5 Secrets to Master Your Day

We all have goals. Goal setting is a key element in goal achieving after all! So, why is it so difficult to achieve goals in the first place? It’s the inability to master your day on a consistent basis.

How can you master your day?

Glad, you asked! Let’s find out!

Now, setting goals can be challenging, but it isn’t what differentiates the successful from the unsuccessful and the mediocre… The successful ones have become masters of their days!

The secret to success is not about goal setting. On the contrary actually…

The secret is all about taking ACTION.

Successful people have the incredible ability to just get it done.

To be successful, you’ve got to be able to stop analyzing and just take action.

The key is learning to master your own day, instead of letting circumstances decide it for you.

Luckily, there are actionable and concrete steps you can take starting right now!

5 Secrets to Master Your Day and Create REAL Results

1. Cultivate Your Spirituality

Master your day by cultivating your spiritual practices.
Master your day by cultivating your spiritual practices.

Cultivating your spirituality can lead to increased mindfulness among other amazing benefits.

Try this!

Start off your day really early, like abnormally early,

I’m talking between 4 and 5 in the morning.

Waking up this early, according to many successful people like Grant Cardone and the teachings of the Ayurveda system, is super beneficial for your body, mind, heart, and soul.

Start off slow by following a daily ritual that’s simple and easy.

Here’s my ritual to master my day:

I personally start around 6 Am.

Upon rising I drink some warm water with a wedge of lemon (and maybe a little bit of Michigan honey from my friend Kathy), followed by some light stretches and a 10-30 minutes meditation session.

After my meditation, I practice some Gratitude and Journaling.

Honestly, cultivating mindfulness is one of the easiest way to create a daily habit and ritual.

Start your day that way and watch as you become more and more peaceful with the world around you.

On top of that, as you get used to being up and ready to take on the day in the early morning, you’ll find that you’ll always have time to be kind to yourself!

2. Build A Serious Action Plan

Master your day by having a game plan
Master your day with an action plan!

When you start waking up earlier than everyone else, you’ll realize something amazing: The sheer amount of uninterrupted time you’ll have is unbelievable.

Our most creative and mentally active times are in the early morning, so not only will you have more time, you’ll be super creative and mindful!

That’s exceptional if you’re planning to master your day.

That extra time you’ve got adds up.

Seriously!

Think about it this way, if you work 40 hours a week like most people do and you only add 1 hour to your days by waking up an hour earlier, that’s just under an entire workday you’re getting worth of time.

Let’s not forget how valuable time is.

Time is life.

To master your day, you’ve got to have more time.

But it isn’t just about waking up earlier, though. It’s about planning.

There are loads of ways to schedule how you’re going to go through your day, but by far the best is the Brendon Burchard “1Page Productivity”  Method.

It’s a short 1 Page-Planner that looks like this:

3. Declutter Your Decision Making

Did you know that a person’s productivity is directly linked to how many decisions they have to make?

Except… The less decisions you make, the better your decision making becomes, and by proxy, the more productive you are!

Okay, this might sound crazy, but have you ever noticed how Mark Zuckerberg’s always wearing that signature grey shirt? Or how Steve Jobs always had a black turtleneck and jeans?

Don’t recall? See this first:

The answer… One less decision to make.

This is proven stuff, too.

If you want to master your day, you’ve got to master your decision making!

As if that weren’t enough, the cherry on top is that you’re also saving time.

“We are the creative force of our life, and through our own decisions rather than our conditions, if we carefully learn to do certain things, we can accomplish those goals.” – Steven Covey

Now, hold on.

I’m not saying you should only wear the same thing every day!

What I’m saying is that finding ways to declutter your decision making by reducing the number of decisions to make in a given day is a huge step towards mastering your day.

This is how I streamlines a few things in my life…

I personally pick what I want to wear for the next day, the night before. Also, I plan my meals for the week ahead so I don’t have to wonder when I am hungry what am I to eat?

Additionally, I plan when I want to take breaks throughout the day and use my Google Home to remind me. I switched to online food delivery like HelloFresh to avoid making too many decisions when shopping. (use my hello fresh invite and get a discount from HelloFresh)

Besides, streamlining the major things in my life has freed my mind from the fear of forgetting something. Which in turn allows me to remain more present when I am creating content, shooting videos, and recording meditation.

4. Take Care of Your Body’s Health to Master Your Day

EAT what nourishes your body. DO what nourishes your soul. THINK what nourishes your mind.
Care for your body and master your day!

Another fantastic way to help you master your day, develop mental clarity and to feel genuinely good about life is to properly take care of your body.

Although body and mind tend to be thought of as separate, they’re exceptionally connected, too.

What you eat does nourish your mind one way or another…

You are what you eat!

The best way to make sure you’re nourishing your body correctly is to, well, judge how you’re feeling!

If you tend to feel abnormally tired or overstressed for no apparent reason, there’s a good chance it’s because you might not be giving the body what it needs.

Make sure to eat your vegetables! (No, seriously, vegetables are absolutely amazing for us, eat them.)

If you eat meat, please switch to grass-fed meat and free range chicken.

For fish eaters, stick with ethically caught and not farm raised fish as farm raised are full of chemicals.

Drink enough water!
