How to change your life for the better using words?
To transform your life completely, it’s essential that you’re aware of your habits.
With awareness, you can create an action plan for change and transformation. You’ll thank your future self for it!
Most people lack awareness of what they are saying out loud. The first step to change your life is by increasing your awareness of the words you speak.
In order to change your life for the better, here are 5 different words that will help you stay conscious of the things you say. Get a pen and paper and write down some thoughts about each one as you keep reading on.
But first, please allow me to share with you a short story that can change your life completely.
You may not know that I am an immigrant and a war survivor. My childhood was spent in Iraq, so I had a first-hand understanding of the hardships wars can bring.
Throughout my life, I have experienced a variety of circumstances that have shaped my perspective on life. In Iraq, I had mostly negative experiences, but I credit my positive attitude for my overall success in life.
Despite growing up in a war zone, I always felt it was my responsibility to be the director of my life.
I always knew as a child that if I could stay positive long enough, I could change my life for the better.
Throughout my life, I only spoke about what I wanted to accomplish and achieve. I didn’t let negative thoughts live rent-free in my head. When a negative thought pops into my head, I simply observe it and then let it go. I didn’t allow any room for any negativity to take hold of my mind.
As an adult, I had the opportunity to bring positive change to my life but I would have to step outside of my comfort zone BIG TIME. To step forward in faith and trust in divine timing, I had to fully embrace the unknown. At one point, I had to accept so many changes all at once. But I held on to the faith that all will be well and to trust the process.
I was able to accomplish many goals and dreams because I trusted the process. As a result of not allowing fear and worry to influence my mindset and attitude, I was able to write my own life script. And you can write yours too!
It was necessary for me to change the way I thought about myself in order to change my life.
Negative self-talk
One thing I wanted to emphasize in this post is that words can create or destroy worlds! Therefore, speak with extreme caution. Speak words that will accelerate your path to happiness and success rather than detracting from it. Positive change starts with our habits of self-talk.
If you want a fulfilling life, you need to change the way you talk to yourself. You should replace any negativity-based self-talk that enters your mind with positive, encouraging thoughts.
Trust me, if you speak to yourself in a negative way, you will achieve nothing.
In this article, we explore five words that when you change your attitude towards them, you will see miracles happen in every area of your life. Many lives are about to change with this post.🤩
Since I believe we can all learn from each other, I enjoy writing about my past experiences. On the other hand, I believe when we share our experiences, we set a great example for others to follow. In the comments section, you are invited to share your experiences or your own example(s).
Now let’s dive into the 5 words that’ll change life for the better.
Exactly what to say next time you’re faced with a challenge.
There are five simple words you will learn in this post that could mean the difference between success and failure. Just change one word in a sentence and watch as life changes before your own eyes.
Growth comes from change, learning comes from change, and shaping our experiences comes from change.
If you’re open to it, the winds of change can wash away any negativity from the past and clear the way for a brighter future. The key is to keep an open mind and adopt an attitude of positivity. Therefore, embrace change whenever it comes.
How to change your life for the better using empowering language.
You might want to write these words down if you truly want to change.
Let’s get started!
1. Can’t
Due to the increased use of this word, I thought it’s necessary to begin the article with it.
It’s actually one of the most common words in our vocabulary that we use to limit ourselves. By using can’t, we tell ourselves something is impossible.
The truth is that nothing is impossible if you work hard enough at it. When people think they can’t achieve their dreams, so many give up on them. Why is that? It’s a lack of faith in one’s ability.
Having faith in yourself is vital to experiencing life fully, making more money, learning new skills, and creating the higher self that you’d like.
Taking this word out of your vocabulary forever will help you accomplish what you want faster! Don’t just take my word for it, try it for yourself and let me know!
In the future, whenever you find yourself about to blurt out the word “I can’t”, stop yourself and remind yourself that you are always in charge of your destiny. And, don’t forget that the moment you utter the word “can’t”, you give up your power.
Please take a moment to go over the following examples and let me know which one empowers you:
When using Can’t:
Friend: Hey, wanna hit the gym?
You: I can’t, I’m so busy!
Alternate using empowering words:
Friend: Hey, wanna hit the gym?
You: I’m working on a big project so I’ll take a rain check. Thank you!
Alternatively,
Friend: Hey, wanna hit the gym?
You: As I am working on an important task, I am not able to do so now.
Instead of saying I can’t, using I am not able now gives a sense of empowerment about a temporary situation that will pass within a short period of time. Compared to can’t, it’s more optimistic.
2. Try
People abuse the word TRY so much!
“TRY?” “I’ll try my best.” It’s a shame that people use this term as an excuse for not doing their best. If you really want to do something, just go ahead and do it without making excuses or using words like “try”.
In addition, by saying “I’ll try,” you are subconsciously telling yourself that you are incapable of achieving your dreams and goals.
I believe there is no trying; there is only doing or not doing!
“Do. Or don’t. There is no try,” said the famous and iconic Yoda.
Here’s how Try and Do differ.
The word “try” actually gives energy to uncertainty, but the word “do” gives energy to concrete, inspired action.
The next time someone asks when you’re going to meet them for lunch, instead of saying “I’ll try to make it at noon,” say “I will do my best to make it at noon”. To say “I aim for noon” is even more powerful. Saying “I’ll be there at noon” is the best thing to say. You can trust divine timing and act with confidence that you will arrive on time.
If you want to change your life for the better, you must get rid of “Try”.
3. Problem
Another word that is misused often is problem. Saying “problem” has become a very bad habit that many people have.
If you’re not doing math, you should get rid of the word problem!
Problems have to be solved, and let’s be real, not many people sit around fantasizing about how to solve them.
Use the word challenge or situation instead of problem.
The words “situation and challenge” are both more empowering words and will help inspire creativity and insightful thinking to find a solution to whatever situation you are facing without the negative connotations that the word problem evokes.
Practice this often so that it becomes a habit. The world is yours when you live life from a creative space and not a limited-thinking space. Create your dream life by making choices that align with your high vibrating future self.
This brings me to the 4th word in the change your word, change your world series.
4. Should
OMGosh! We “SHOULD” ourselves all the time! I should have done this; I should have done that…
When you should yourself, you actually discredit yourself and tell your subconscious mind that you are not in charge of your life.
Stop torturing yourself in that way. Taking responsibility for your own mental health is a key component of stopping “Shoulding Yourself” and changing your world.
Instead of “Shoulding Yourself” use words that make you feel inspired and empowered.
Focus on using the words want, choose, or could instead.
Allow me to demonstrate.
Friend: Hey Zane, did you complete the article yet?
Zane: No, I really should’ve forced myself to just sit down and begin writing. (Gosh, It gives me a heavy feeling just reading the sentence.)
Now look at this answer instead:
Friend: Hey Zane, did you complete the article yet?
Zane: No, I choose to write it tomorrow. Or no, I want to start the writing process tomorrow.
If you choose to be accountable and discipline yourself instead of shoulding, you instill in yourself a sense of duty and responsibility.
You must take an active role in your daily routines and actions if you wish to change your life!
When you spend more time learning how to speak to yourself, you improve your healthy self-talk habits. So, figure out what you want in life and focus your efforts on pursuing it. Spend time visualizing and affirming it. Create a vision board and review it often. You change your destiny by changing your vocabulary.
5. But
Last and certainly not least, the word but, and this is a Big But! “Pun intended.😍“
When we say something that’s followed by the word but, we actually negate what we said. Why? Let me explain.
There is a tendency for the human brain to focus on negativity. The process of selective attention, which relies upon our cognitive and emotional state at any given moment in time can lead us to notice negative occurrences more than positive ones.
I’ll give you an example:
Friend: Hey, how was the party last night?
You: We had a good time, but the snacks could have been better.
Due to our natural tendency to exaggerate the negative, the “we had a great time” statement you made is immediately brushed aside if you follow it up with a BUT. Science calls this phenomenon negativity biases.
Substitute the word AND for the word BUT.
Rephrasing your sentence may require a little creativity, but it’s worth it. It is beneficial to friendships and relationships, in general, to be more positive and less critical.
Check this out:
Friend: Hey, how was the party last night?
You: We had a great time, and I have a few snack ideas for your next party. Or this was a great party, and I enjoyed the snacks so much that I have some ideas for the next one.
When we use “and” instead of “but”, the statement is more positive and considerate!
Imagine how many lives we could change if we each took an active role in our daily lives and practiced thoughtfulness and compassion.
For a better life, use these 5 words and let them change your life forever!
Create the biggest impact in your life and the lives of others simply by mastering your language. At the same time, it’s important to not let any negative people or events keep you stuck in your comfort zone. The only thing preventing you from living your dream life is your bad habits.
Decide which habits are serving you and which ones you need to drop. Figure out your life purpose and change your life by implementing the change your word, change your world strategy.
Change your life, transform your relationships with family and friends, and create your reality by mastering the way you speak.
Think and talk positively to change your life today! Pay close attention to every word you speak and cut yourself some slack when you slip. After all, we’re all humans!
Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Simply, accept the fact that at one point in your life, you will make a mistake. It is only when you realize that if you never make any mistakes, you will never grow, that you realize mistakes are worth it. Focus your efforts on making things happen instead of passively going through life. When you have an idea or an urge to act, accept responsibility and take action immediately. Learn from any challenges you may face but focus on the growth that has come from the experience. Always remember that it is one thing to learn from past mistakes, but it is another to let them consume you.
