Have you ever wondered how Happy People seem to live life to the fullest?

Well, wonder no more! In today’s post, I’ll show what are the habits of successful and happy people.

First things first, happiness is a choice!

Yup, it’s as easy as just waking up one day and deciding that from now on, you are going to be happy! Of course, you’ll have your ups and downs, but you will be joyfully alive!

I made that decision years ago and never looked back.

Sadly, not everyone knows that happiness is a choice.

So today, I am going to share with you 10 ways to cultivate a happiness mindset.

First, happiness comes from within.

When your inner truth is aligned with your core values, and when your mindset is focused on inner happiness rather than external stuff, that’s when you start to uncover the key to everlasting happiness.

Happy people discovered that secret and they made sure that they made this a daily habit to practice.

Also, happiness is feeling joy, wonder, and satisfaction about life and the events that make out your life.

Lastly, happiness is not event-based! You see, we all run into setbacks every now and then, but we can’t let that control our happiness. Because if that’s the case, then we’ll never be completely pleased with any given moment of our lives.

Ok, now let’s dive into how you can cultivate a happiness mindset to ensure maximum happiness level at all times.

So, just like happy people made the art of happiness a daily habit, let’s turn you into a happiness magnet. Start by focusing on these 10 tips:

1. The Current Moment Is All You Have

Leave the past behind, let the future unfold itself, and focus on today, and today only.

Dwelling in the past leads to nothing but frustration. Trying to control what might happen two hours from now is like trying to predict the color of an item while being blindfolded.

So instead, enjoy the small details of your day such as enjoying the little things in life.

  • Things like watching a sunrise or sunset.
  • Or sipping a perfect cup of coffee or tea early in the morning.
  • Maybe, talking to a friend or a family member!

Living the present moment is where happiness resides!

2. Have An Attitude of Gratitude

Be grateful for each second of your life!

And if for whatever reason you find it difficult to “enjoy the present moment,” then focus on giving thanks for what the moment represents, things like…

  • Good health
  • Friendly company
  • A roof over your head
  • Connection to your spiritual side
  • An exciting vacation to look forward to

By giving appreciation to each moment, you’re activating the Law of Attraction, and we all know that likes attract likes. To create a life full of joy by cultivating an attitude of gratitude, here’s a gratitude session to get you started:

3. Find Your “Happy Place”

Promise me that by the end of today, you’ll find your happy place!

Everyone must have a happy place to retreat to. (This can be an actual or imaginary place)

For me, it’s one of two places! They are either going outdoors like a park, the beach, or the mountains or my meditation room when staying indoors.

So whenever I feel my happiness is running low, I always go to my happy place.

So start by picking your own happy place and redirect your thoughts to that place for a dose of feel-good energy!

Please note that there are no specific rules on finding your “happy place.” It can be anything—a person, a place, or a thing that improves the way you feel about yourself.

Simply sit back, and visualize being in your happy place and forget about everything else

Repeat as needed.

4. Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life

There isn’t much that we can control, except for our own inner thoughts and inner dialogues.

So make sure you keep your thoughts in check if you want happiness to be your most dominant feeling.

Happy people control the thoughts they harbor. And whenever negative or unproductive thoughts come, they make sure that positive and productive ones replace them.

5. Forgot What Happiness Look Like? Take A Refresher From A Child

Nowadays, life has become too serious that you might’ve forgotten what happiness looks like. And to get a refresher, look no further than watching how children live.

Babies and children, for the most part, live in the present moment so fully that they forget about everything else.

Do you have kids, go play with them! Literally!

And no I don’t mean PlayStation here. I mean REAL PLAY! Like outside in the sun and grass kind of play😃

And if you don’t have kids of your own, get involved in the lives of your nieces and nephews if you have any or get active with your friends who have kids.

I don’t have my own kids, but I spend time with my nephews every week. And I love how awesome I feel after spending time with them. They always freshen up my perspective on life.

6. Have Some Quality Time With Your Dog or Cat

Whenever I feel a bit down, I always go play with my dog.

I mean how can’t you just get instantly happy just looking at this face?

You see, dogs can perk your mood right up as they have one goal: to be happy at the moment. Well, maybe food then being happy🐶

If you’re a cat person, then spend time with your kitty.🐱

However, cats have one thing in their mind, and it’s how to make CAT happy, so not sure how that will go, LOL…

7. Focus On Making Others Happy

An excellent way to raise your happiness meter is by giving your time to others doing something that makes them feel happy.

When you see people around happy, you can’t help but feel happy, too.

Why you may ask? Cause the highest vibrating energy always wins! Love and happiness wins!

So contribute to causes you’re passionate about. Smile often, and get to know the people you’re helping.

Invest your time and energy in the other’s experiences and let their happiness replenish yours.

8. Meditate

There are many scientific studies that highlight the benefits of meditation and happiness is one of these benefits.

So whenever you’re feeling low on happiness, meditate and increase your happiness in a pinch.

Explore your inner thoughts and emotions with the Art of Journaling.

Feeling stressed out? Then, write your heart out.

Let your thoughts run freely, with no reservations about what you have to say.

Don’t try to censor yourself—the very act of writing can be a great way to purge negative feelings that prevent happiness.

After you finish writing, read it out loud and then destroy it by shredding it, burning it or simply throwing it away.

10. Find Your Reason Why

My why is to teach and bring light to the world. Here’s my last training I did last week:

The easiest and fastest way to be happy and stay happy is to know why you want to be happy in the first place.

  • Do you want to be happy for yourself?
  • Want to be happy for your family?
  • Set an example of excellence?

Or maybe you want to be happy so that you can do a better job, serve better, help better and simply be better.

No matter what your reason might be, simply explore and remind yourself of this to maintain a long term happy filled life.
