How to Let Go of Guilt That Keeps You Stuck in The Past

Guilt is by far one of the most detrimental emotions you could keep in your heart. It would be best if you learned how to let go of guilt and free yourself.

Feeling guilty serves no purpose whatsoever. I TRULY mean it!

Did you know that holding on to unnecessary guilt is one of the worst things you could do for yourself?

Holding on to past guilt affects your mind, body, and spirit as well as your relationships and overall well-being.

As if that wasn’t enough, guilt can also be abused to manipulate you! (Narcissists are great at guilt-tripping, but that’s a deep topic for a different post)

So as you can see, nothing good can come from harboring the feeling of guilt.

So, now, the million-dollar question: How to let go of guilt?

My mission in today’s post is to keep things simple.

On top of that, my intention is to help you release guilt’s low vibes energy from your mind, body, heart, and soul.

To release the heavy burden of feeling guilty, I have a couple of steps for you to follow. Let’s dive in right away, so you don’t have to carry that energy with you anymore.

How to Let Go of Guilt and Free Yourself?

1. Consciously Acknowledge Your Guilt

How to Let Go of Guilt and Free Yourself: Only when you accept your repressed emotions, regrets, fear and guilt can you feel whole. To free yourself, stop holding on to the past and learn to let it go.
The first step to let go of guilt is by acknowledging its existence.

Similarly to getting over other problems, the first step to letting go of guilt is acknowledging it.

Now, you might be thinking: I already acknowledge it! That’s why I’m here! Keep reading because it’s deeper than that, trust me!

Acknowledging guilt isn’t just accepting that it’s there.

Instead, think of it as opening your heart, soul, and mind to it. Moreover, be open to understanding what you must learn from that guilt?

I know it seems counterintuitive, but it’s essential to do this to let go of guilt.

It’s so important to “open up” to guilt. Because that’s the only way you can really understand “The Why” behind it.

Every emotion you experience including guilt has a message to teach you.

Being open and willing to ask the question, “What am I supposed to learn from this guilt?” is the way to release it.

As a child growing up in Iraq, I felt so guilty for seeing so much pain and not being able to help.

I carried that guilt well into my adulthood for years. But when I started to acknowledge the guilt and then asked myself, what am I supposed to learn from it? It became as clear as day the why behind it.

To be of better service to humanity, I needed to witness TRUE PAIN.

From that pain, I learned how to be compassionate. Also, from seeing and experiencing pain daily, I learned how to detach from others’ pain so I can be clear-minded and help them through what they’re going through.

Once I had that breakthrough, I no longer needed to look at my past and feel guilty. And at the off chance guilt makes an appearance in my current life, I immediately stop and ask myself what I need to learn from that guilt?

To get clear answers to that existential question, I invite you to implement the 2nd step.

Practice Guided Meditation to Release Guilt and Cultivate Higher Consciousness

Without reservation, if you ask me what’s one habit that can change your life forever? Meditation has to be it!

Hey, it’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of meditation.

There’s a reason behind that. Well, the reason is a bit personal for me.

When I left the warzone of Iraq in search of a better future, I suffered from PTSD.

Meditation has been the solution to my predicament. I’ve managed PTSD symptoms with meditations for years, and I can happily report that I am 100% free from the symptoms. If you want to learn my story with PTSD in specific, please watch this vid:
