If you’re an optimist, like me, then the last few months on planet Earth have been pretty swell.
Nobody died from chickenpox.
People are working towards their goals and aspirations. The Economy is recovering and BEST of all Human Consciousness is expanding and more people are waking up to the TRUTH!
But if you are a realist, like me too, then the last few months on planet Earth have been pretty horrifying.
If you paid even a little attention to the breaking news headlines, or to social media headlines, you would agree with the latter statement,
The never-ending effect of climate change on our planet, the act of terrorism that are being taking place all over the world; and the latest ISIS” Islamic State Militants” suicide bombings and gun attacks in the city of As-Suwayda, Syria that ended up killing 255 people, including 142 civilians, and injuring 180 others. “Source”
So, how to stay happy when it seems that everything around us is falling apart:
I can just tell you to focus on the bright side, but I know that is not enough.
Even if you’re the most happy-go-lucky person on the planet, it can be difficult to stay upbeat when tough times present themselves and when the news bombard us with one terrible breaking news after the other.
However, we are all bound to go through some difficult and unpleasant situations in our lives, and we certainly don’t want to waste our lives being sad.
So looking on the bright side will help you to a certain extent, but I have researched and located some great tips for you to pull you out of your funk and stay on top of your game.
Are you ready?
8 Ways To Stay Happy When The Sky Is Falling?
1. Limit your exposure to negative media.
The media and the news are both a blessing and a curse!
We want to stay abreast of what’s going on in the world and the media helps us stay aware of that, but you can also limit the negativity you see.
But that doesn’t mean to binge on the news. Hence I said to limit your exposure to negative media.
2. Focus on the good
It’s important to focus on the good even when we are going through the worst of times.
Cause if we don’t, then by the virtue of the Law of Attraction, we’ll attract more of that crap.
Have you noticed that when something goes wrong, how you immediately start thinking about everything that’s ever gone wrong in your day?
I know it feels good to talk about the crap that’s happening in our lives and trust me I am ok with the “Art of Venting” but I don’t encourage nor I practice the “Art of Dwelling.”
So, count your blessings, not your curses 😉
3. Disconnect from time to time.
When I say disconnect, I mean DISCONNECT.
No phones, no messages, no email – just you, yourself and the universe!
Every weekend I disconnect for half a day!
So, I put my smartphone on airplane mode to avoid distraction and go on a long hike in nautre.
In invite you to do that whenever you get a chance, go to the beach if you’re living by the ocean or go for a walk in the park if you live in the city.
It doesn’t matter what you do for as long as you stay active and involved in something positive and healing.
Simply let go, and let your batteries get recharged.
4. Figure out the little things that make you happy
The beginning of this month was incredibly stressing me out as I had a ton of things to do, from writing articles to engaging with readers to creating future training to making sure my bills are all paid.
With the amount of the workload I had, I started to get a little negative, and that’s when I knew it’s time to do something else.
So, I put on my Lady GaGa shirt on and listened to some music, and I instantly felt better. Check me out 🙂

How would this make you feel better, you may ask?
Because the above-listed things bring me happiness!
In your case, it will be something else.
So take the time to figure out what makes you happy and then use these things during the hard times to stay positive and upbeat.
5. Laugh Your Butt-Off!
It feels good to just simply laugh!
Try it out, just laugh for no reason. Do it!!!
I am sure you heard the saying “Smile; it’s infectious.” – so what’s stopping you?
I don’t think I need to say more about this one 🙂 Simply put on a re-run of F.R.I.E.N.D.S or Seinfeld or whatever brings a smile to your face and just go bananas.
6. Spend time with people who uplift you.
Friends are like an extended family!
Make sure they are people who bring out the absolute best in you, and not drag you down.
In order to neutralize negativity all around you, you MUST vibrate at a higher frequency, and that won’t happen if you’re surrounded by people who keep you feeling bummed.
7. Practice Mindfulness Meditation:
Personally, I practice meditation daily!
Mindfulness meditation in specific helps to strengthen your mental health and your feeling of connectedness.
Jon Kabat-Zinn defines mindfulness as: “The awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment by moment.”
Meditation with practice can become a place to process your emotions and can be explored and used for self-discovery.
If you already practice meditation, then keep up the great work. If not, start one today and You can find good pointers in this article here.
8. Practice Positive Affirmations:
This is one of my favorite tools!
There are thousands of positive affirmations that you can tell yourself, from “I can do this” to “Everyday and in every way, my life gets better and better.”.
All it takes is for you to spend a few minutes to figure out your favorite affirmations and then repeat them to yourself whenever you’re feeling down. (Repeat it silently, though—don’t freak out people around you! 🙂
In summary, even though its tempting to just crawl under the covers and shut yourself away from the world when presented with difficult situations, there are ways to keep a healthy and upbeat aura around you.
Staying happy is easier than you think!
By limiting your news intake, focusing on the positive, disconnecting from life’s distractions, surrounding yourself with things and people you love, laughing, practicing mindfulness meditation, and finding your positive affirmations, you can stay sunny on even your cloudiest days.
