What is your dream life? Lots of people ask themselves that very question…
However, most people live such busy lives that they barely have a spare minute to breathe, let alone think about and answer this profound question.
Trust me, I know the feeling!
When I was a corporate trainer in Washington, DC, hectic schedules, high demands, and a cut-throat environment were part of my daily routine.
I subscribed to the “busy is good” lifestyle and I kicked major ass in that lifestyle, too!
And to be quite honest, at the time, I didn’t mind it. I made a GREAT income and wined and dined with movers and shakers in DC.
But God had different and more glorious plans for me.
In 2012, a fateful car accident changed my life forever.
I was involved in a very bad accident that totaled my car in less than 45 seconds.
Thankfully beside the material loss, no one was hurt.
Beside a whiplash, I walked away from the accident with everything still intact.
When I looked at pictures of my accidents, I couldn’t believe how I was still alive.
Here’s what my windshield looked like.
The accident really made me think twice about the life choices I made so far and made me ask myself the real question which was: Zane, Are You Living Your Dream Life?
The answer was, sadly, NO!
And that’s when I was set out to discover how to live my dream life and most importantly fulfill my true potential.
How Did I Develop My Dream Life?
Knowing that I wasn’t living up to my potential bothered me a lot.
When I had the car accident, I was in my late 20s, and I found it so disturbing that I was alive for almost 30 years and yet I was not living my dream life.
That’s when I took the time to dig deep and to find out what meant the most for me.
An Exercise on How to Create Your Dream Life
Set aside 10-15 minutes to do this exercise.
Get a pen and paper and answer the same question I asked myself a few years ago.
The question is: If you’re living your dream life, what would it look like for you?
At the time when I asked myself the question, my dream life looked something like this:
In my dream life, I am working from home.
My home nestles in the private yet beautiful red mountains of Sedona, Arizona.
Here’s a picture of what I would see upon waking up:
My work gives me the ability to make an impact on my life and the lives of others through spreading wisdom via video training, online courses, and masterminds.
Also, in my dream life, I am in LOVE with my dream partner.
I work with amazing people who I respect, and most importantly, I TRUST.
I travel internationally giving inspirational talks.
Additionally, I get to visit my family often and see my nephews regularly.
Also, I get to host meaningful life transformational events that bring alignment, purpose, and enlightenment to the lives of those I serve.
Now and at the time that I am writing this article, I can’t help but notice I already manifested my dream life.
Please allow me to share a few photos that highlight what I manifested in the past few years:

I am so BLESSED!
Now please allow me to share with you a few tips to help you find your joy and purpose in life while building that dream life.
5 Joyous Ways To Start Living Your Dream Life
1. Finding Your Joy
Most people go on through life without knowing what brings them the most joy.
For me, joy consists of doing things that bring me life.
Things like coaching people on how to transform their lives with meditation, or hosting live events that focus on transformational work, or volunteering for charities that I am passionate about.
If you really want to live your ideal life, you must find what brings you joy in the first place and spent your time, energy, and effort doing it.
2. The Permission To Feel Joy
Most people experience moments of joy in their life.
But to be honest with you, I learned that to live your dream life, you must permit yourself to experience joy regularly.
The sad truth is that not most people permit themselves to feel joy and happiness in the first place.
So let me ask you…
Do you permit yourself to feel joy?
Be honest with yourself and give yourself the time to explore the answer.
3. The Joy Habit
What I have found that has worked for me is to make joy part of my daily practice.
I turned joy into a habit.
I incorporate activities into my daily routines that bring me joy — habits like expressing gratitude and serving without expectation.
When joy became second nature to me, I just kept experiencing more joy.
Why?
It’s the Law! What Law?
Based on the law, likes attract likes, and when I was in states of joy, I kept attracting more joy.
4. Breathe the Joy!
Daily, I stop and breathe and focus on the blessings I have in my life.
Upon waking up, I look around me and list as many things as I can list to be grateful for.
Things like:
- Seeing the sunrise or sunset
- Having a roof over my head
- Having drinkable clean water
- Experiencing health, joy, and love
I go on and on and on and on for as long as I can.
I overwhelm myself with these feelings till I feel the energy shift within me.
And as the feelings of abundance, love, joy, and happiness grow within me, I put my hands together near my heart and lock the vibration of these feelings within me.
Before you judge this simple practice, I invite you to do it!
Even if only once just so you can experience the feeling, please do it.
It’s a Gift From You to You!
Follow these 4 Simple Steps daily:
- Relax.
- Breathe.
- List your blessings.
- Lock the feeling of joy within.
5. Perseverance + Joy = Transformation
Once I experienced joy, I made it my mission to retrain my brain to be more joyous.
I knew that it took years of subconscious reprogramming for my brain to focus on the negative in life. And with me acknowledging that, I was able to get over my false expectation of becoming an overnight transformation.
This forced me to face the truth which is that if I want a different life than the one I have right now, then I get to put in the time, effort, money and energy necessary to cultivate the person who I get to become as I grow older and hopefully wiser 🙂
This is when perseverance becomes vital.
Continous training, day after day, while shifting old paradigms and creating new alignment. That’s what perseverance looks like!
It can get exhausting but trust me the end result is totally worth it.
I believe in you!
You got this!
In conclusion, if you want to build your dream life, then you get to bring the joy with you through your words and actions.
And to keep the joy alive, remain inquisitive, and always ask yourself the question:
Are you living your dream life, or are you cruising by in life?
This will keep you on the joy path!
You can do it…
You are doing it…
With luv, light, and gratitude,
Xoxo,
Zane
