How To Celebrate International Women’s Day Like The Queen That You Are!

7006

To honor and celebrate International Women’s Day in style, I am writing this post.

If you want to learn the history behind International Women’s Day, please read this post.

I personally don’t believe that we need to wait till March 8th of every given year to honor all the wonderful and magical women who have made this world a better place. I am a big advocate of seizing the day.

So, why wait till this day when you can honor the gorgeous goddesses that you have in your life daily.

However, that being said, March 8th is a day that deserves extra special attention. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating the remarkable growth we have made as a society regarding the equality front.

There is more progress to be made, but we also gotta celebrate how far we have come!

Celebrate International Women’s Day

And to celebrate in style, I asked my best female friends how they honor the “divine feminine within,” especially to celebrate International Women’s Day.

I got so many GREAT tips and brilliant ways to celebrate this special day! And today you ganna get the full scoop!

But before we dive into the nitty-gritty details, I want to make one major acknowledgment to a VERY SPECIAL woman in my life!

On International Women’s Day, I want to acknowledge my wonderful Mother! Her leadership and guidance in my life have shaped me to be the man I am today.

Truly, behind every great man, there is an ever greater woman!

Here’s a pic of me and my mama – please show my mama some love by going to this pic and leaving her a comment:

Mom, if you’re seeing this article, this is for you!

Dear Mom,

You taught me honor, you taught me respect.

Also, you taught me that gender is not a differentiator and that all people are meant to be loved, honored, and accepted the way they are.

On top of that, you instilled within me the courage to love unconditionally, and the resilience to forgive when it’s hard.

Mother, I am who I am today because of the VALUES you taught me and helped me learn from an early stage.

I bow before you humbled and in AWE at your magnificence and wisdom!

Hugs,
Zane

Alrighty, without further ado, let’s explore not 1 but 9 Ways to honor the divine feminine and celebrate International Women’s Day!

1. Invite the Girls For a Night Out

Based on the response I got from my friends, the first and most favorite way to celebrate International Women’s Day seems to be a “Girls Night.”

You can go as fancy as you like or keep it simple, it’s up to you and your girlfriends.

However, due to the recent social distancing requirements and shutdowns occurring across the globe, maybe having pizza and wine at home with a few special gal pals is the way to go. If that’s not possible, have a facetime call or a zoom session and celebrate while at home.

No matter what you decide on doing, just make sure to have fun!

2. Glam Up Your Nails

Mani and Pedi were a common theme when I asked my female friends how they like to celebrate Intentional Women’s Day.

Ladies, do you agree?

If you’re a man reading this post, show the women in your life how much you appreciate them by getting a nail appointment or nail gift certificate in celebration of this day (Psst! Fellas, please know your audience! If you know the woman well and she’s not into that stuff, please do the equivalent to what she likes to do. Maybe it’s eyebrow shaping or getting a massage. I’ll talk more about massages later in this post)

3. Splurge On Beauty Product

“Ohhhh! Going shopping and investing in high-quality beauty products is a great way to celebrate Intentional Women’s Day,” said one friend.

Not only this one is one of the top 3 favorite ways to celebrate Intentional Women’s Day but also it can be done on a budget too!

If you want to find coupons and online deals on your favorite brands, please make sure to give Honey a look. Honey is an internet browser extension that automatically scours the net, finds, and applies coupon codes at checkout with a single click.

4. Get A Massage

In my book, it’s always a good time for a massage! Especially if budget and circumstances permit.

A massage is a great way to relief stress and women’s day or not I feel this should be part of your regular self-care regiment.

Here’s a tip, before you book a massage session! Google locally for massage centers near you that are running promos. It might be your lucky day and you’ll find a message while remaining conscious of your budget.

5. Movie Time With Your Girl Squad

Another popular group activity that my friends shared with me is to invite the girl squad in or go out for a movie. Staying in is more like it with all the craziness that’s going on, but I hope that soon things will turn back to some form of normalcy.

Either way, spend time watching a movie that reminds you of how special it is to be a woman. There are many amazing women-focused movies and documentaries to watch on Netflix or Amazon.

Following the movie with a girls-talk session is a must said one female friend 😄

6. Get A Fresh Hairdo

Certainly, getting your beauty on in the salon is one great way to celebrate yourself.

Most of my lady friends confirmed that this one is at the top 5 of their favorite ways to celebrate Intentional Women’s Day.

Is it just me or do y’all feel like a million bucks after you get your hair done, too?

I mean, YAAAAS!

7. Have A Dance Party

It’s always a good time for a dance party! Alone or with the squad!

Get shaking, get moving and get that energy flowing!

Of course, Beyoncé always come to mind when it’s dancing times with the squad😄

How about you? For me it’s a double YAAAS for Queen B!

8. Read A Powerful Woman Biography

One way to honor and celebrate International Women’s day is to read women empowerment biographies.

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, Cleopatra, Oprah and I am Malala, are a few that I highly recommend.

To learn what other powerful women did to become the powerhouses that they are, here’s a list of the top 100 women empowerment biographies.

9. Self-Love Bubble Time

My female friend unanimously confirmed that having a bath is an all time budget friendly favorite.

They also emphasized that while taking a bath is a great way to celebrate women’s day, due to life’s high demands soaking in a warm bubble bath must become a regular relaxation practice for long-term self-care.

Long story short, don’t wait for a special occasion to unwind and escape the world with a warm bubble bath.

Add some essential oils and your favorite music, and you’re in for quite a treat. Now is one of my absolute favorite essential oil brands.

In conclusion, ladies, celebrate International Women’s Day and invest your time, energy, and money to honor the Divine Feminine within.

You are a divine being of light and you deserve all the recognition not just on this day but every day!

Fellas, show the women in your life how supportive you are and help them in celebrating this occasion. Also, gentlemen, this treatment is not just for the woman with whom you’re involved romantically. This is for all the women in your life. (Lead by example!)

I highly recommend showing appreciation on a daily basis as it’s a form of gratitude practice that helps cultivate mindfulness and joy. Show appreciation towards yourself and others, too! And to show my appreciation for you, here’s a FREE Copy of The Grateful Morning Meditation MP3 to help you cultivate an attitude of gratitude.

Before I say see you later, could you please share in the comment section at the end of this article your thoughts about which one of the 9 ways resonated with you the most? And if you have other ways you care to add to the list, feel free to share them with me in the comment section below.

Much Luv,
Zane
